By B-Metro Reporter

A 32-YEAR-OLD Victoria Falls man will rot in prison for the next four decades after he lured two innocent sisters into his bedroom hut using baobab fruits and raped them.

The Hwange Magistrates’ Court slapped the predator with a massive 40-year jail sentence after convicting him on two counts of rape involving the siblings who are aged just nine and 10.

It was a shocking betrayal of trust that happened in broad daylight.
The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) revealed that the incident occurred on the morning of September 25, 2025. The two young girls were on their way to school around 0700 hours when the offender called out to them from his residence.

Using the promise of sweet baobab fruits as a trap, he convinced the children to enter his yard.
The situation turned into a nightmare once they stepped inside. The man instructed the victims to get into his bedroom hut. When they complied, he followed them inside, locked the door and committed the heinous act.
His secrets did not stay hidden for long.

Justice caught up with him quickly when a relative spotted the victims leaving the offender’s bedroom. The relative immediately alerted the victims’ grandmother and father. When asked what happened, the terrified girls revealed the horror that had transpired behind the closed door.

The matter was reported to the police leading to the man’s swift arrest and conviction.
The NPAZ warned that the courts are taking a hard stance on those who abuse the innocent.

“Communities must remain vigilant in protecting children, Report any suspicious activity immediately,” the statement read.
The authority emphasized that there is nowhere to hide for perpetrators.
The 40-year sentence sends a loud and clear message to would-be offenders that the law will protect the girl child at all costs.
