AWARD-WINNING musician. Alexio Kawara, says the “Mhofu Dzichifara Mudanga” concert is a platform to promote unity, love and the restoration of family values through culture and music.

The concert, which is built around the themes of totems, culture and heritage, seeks to celebrate Zimbabwean identity while encouraging communities to embrace the values that have long held families together.

Kawara will once again share the stage with Victor Kunonga as both will reignite their stage chemistry. The duo has built a strong friendship and musical connection over the years, sharing stages at various events and winning the hearts of fans.

In an interview with Zimpapers, Alexio said the “Mhofu Dzichifara Mudanga” message resonates deeply with his own beliefs about the importance of family and social cohesion.

“This show is about expression of unity love and joy through music and dance starting from our families spreading to the rest of the world.

“I am hoping that this show will be a seed to bring back the values of families in our nation. Happy families mean a happy nation.”

The concert, which is scheduled for July 3, also features other artists, including Selmor Mtukudzi, bringing together performers from different cultural backgrounds and totems. Tariro neGitare and Dhadza D will be on stage as guest artists. Alexio said the event fits perfectly with the positive messages he has promoted throughout his music career.

“This show is perfectly aligning with the positive message that I share in my music. For me, this is the perfect opportunity to have my voice heard on a bigger platform. The louder the volume, the further my voice will reach.

“Music is powerful in that it’s easy to penetrate the minds of people. When we sing we are not just saying words, but sharing a part of us with those listening.

“This show is designed to impart the values we need to become better people and therefore a better Zimbabwe,” he said. Organisers described the event as a premium cultural experience designed to celebrate Zimbabwean heritage through music, storytelling and traditional identity. The organisers selected artists based on their contribution to Zimbabwean music, their ability to represent culture and heritage, and their connection to the theme, Celebrating Culture and Heritage.

“The concert aims to unite people from different totems and backgrounds, promote cultural pride among young people and establish Mhofu Dzichifara as one of Zimbabwe’s leading cultural music events. Preparations are progressing well. We have secured the venue, commenced marketing, established ticket-selling points, and are currently finalising partnerships, sponsorships, and artist confirmations,” said one of the organisers.
