UP-AND-COMING Afro Fusion band, All in One, have booked their ticket to the 25th edition of the Chibuku Road To Fame national finale after putting on a fine show at the Mashonaland West provincial finals at the weekend.

All in One came tops after shrugging off competition from nine other contestants.

They walked away with the US$2,500 prize money.

Boom Jazz and Nhapi Tapi came second and third. The two groups also took home US$1,500 and US$1,000.

Midlands based outfit, Core Vibes, also booked their place to challenge for the ultimate title at the national finals slated for October 4.

“As the country’s leading music talent search, this year’s edition marks a major milestone in nurturing local artistry and giving aspiring musicians a platform to shine,” said Delta Corporation marketing director, Irimayi Muzorewa.

“This jubilee, the Chibuku brand and National Arts Council of Zimbabwe celebrate unforgettable music, unforgettable moments, and unforgettable stars.

“This year’s edition promises an exciting line-up of provincial competitions across the country, bringing communities together through music and offering Chibuku a unique way to engage with its consumers,”

Muzorewa said their strong appreciation for local music remains a priority.

“The Chibuku brand continues to leverage on music and dance to deliver its core purpose of nourishing the bonds of brotherhood amongst its consumers, who have a strong appreciation for music.

“We are excited to see the brand connect meaningfully with communities across the country, while supporting the next generation of rising stars on their journey to recognition and success,” he said.

Chinotimba Beerhall will host the finals for Matabeleland North this Saturday while Bulawayo and Matabeleland South will search for their winners on September 6.

Harare has been joined by Mashonaland Central at a preliminary round to be held at Makuluwani Bar in Whitehouse.

The grand prize includes a US$15,000 cash prize plus a recording contract.
