After a successful run last Friday, Amakhosi Cultural Centre will this week continue with its signature event, Friday Live, a weekly music showcase that has been a mainstay on Zimbabwe’s entertainment calendar for the past 21 years.
The live performances will be staged every Friday from 6pm to 10pm at Amakhosi Cultural Centre in Bulawayo, with headline acts taking the stage between 7pm and 8pm. The season runs from August through to November 2025.
Speaking on the initiative, Amakhosi programmes manager Sipho Khamanga said Friday Live offers artistes a consistent platform to grow their craft and engage with audiences.
“We’re doing these shows to help artistes build their audiences, receive feedback, and expand their digital reach, all of which are key to growing their careers. These events are family-friendly. While parents enjoy Friday Live, children and teens can attend Dreams to Fame every Saturday from 2pm to 5pm, which is a talent show for the youth,” said Khamanga.
August’s Friday Live line-up features a variety of genres. This Friday will see Ramsey Kay headline, supported by Afro-jazz and rhumba acts. On August 15, Mahlaba will take centre stage. Gogo’Bekezela is scheduled to headline on August 22, while Ndombolo Night will close the month on August 28, featuring various artists.
