ANTICIPATION is rising with only three days to go before the National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) night at the Harare International Convention Centre.
It is being held under the theme “Fearless Creativity.”
NAMA usually draws a formal audience that includes industry professionals, corporate sponsors, policymakers and creatives celebrating excellence across theatre, music, film and literature.
The National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) has confirmed that preparations for the 24th edition of the event are at an advanced stage, with all systems ready for a world-class show.
NACZ spokesperson Agga Nyabinde said Events Evolution and Scarlet Studios are putting the final touches to a state of-the-art stage set-up designed to elevate the ceremony to global standards.
“Stakeholders and fashion icons are already finalising their ‘sartorial best’ for what is expected to be the most glamorous night on the Zimbabwean arts calendar.
“Following the official announcement of the nominees on 12 February, the creative community is buzzing with anticipation.
“We invite all Zimbabweans to join us in celebrating the extraordinary talent that continues to define our nation.
“A star-studded line-up is confirmed to bring the ‘Fearless Creativity’ theme to life.
“Performers include Freeman HKD, Sane Wav, Sekuru Gudo, Junior Spragga, and Fab G.
“Rehearsals are proceeding exceptionally well to ensure a seamless and high-energy production.,” he said.
Gospel artists Minister Ellard and Sharon Cherayi, Vabati VaJehova, Sku, Dorcas Moyo, Cleo Arie and Lil Eliana will take charge of the gospel session.
Plaxedes Wenyika, Alexio Kawara, BaShupi, Dino Mudondo, Baba Harare, the Chillspot Family, Freeman HKD, Bling 4, Runner Rulez, Melyssa, Young Gemini, Fab G and Shone will also entertain the crowd.
