MRS TRACY KAVIYA, a mother of two-month-old twins who is admitted at Chitungwiza Central Hospital after suffering severe burns in a domestic fire, is appealing for assistance.
She was injured after her young daughter accidentally left a pan containing cooking oil on a gas stove, triggering a fire that left her with burn injuries.
Mrs Kaviya is admitted at Chitungwiza Central Hospital and because of that, she can only breastfeed the twins during the day, and at night they have to go home and rely on milk formula since they are not allowed to stay with her in hospital.
She is therefore appealing for assistance to buy milk formula and to cover her medical expenses.
“I am kindly appealing for US$1 200 to buy infant formula and for my medical care. Doctors say I have 15 – 20 degree burns and I dont know how long I have to stay in hospital. I am buying my own medication, bandages and the hospital bill is balooming every day,” she lamented.
The Twins Association of Zimbabwe pledged to provide infant formula during Mrs Kaviya’s stay at Chitungwiza Central Hospital.
The association appealed to well-wishers to assist the family during this difficult period. Those wishing to offer assistance can contact Mrs Kaviya on 0771 895 592.
