Palestinian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Tamer Almassri, has praised creative designer and ceramic artist Ms Patrice Delchambre for holding an exhibition to express her solidarity with the people of Palestine under Israeli occupation.
Ambassador Almassri described Ms Delchambre’s works as expressions of humanity capable of bringing humanity together without use of words. He made the remarks at the exhibition held recently in Chisipite, Harare.
“I know Patrice as a woman of initiatives and an activist in solidarity with the Palestinian people, especially during the genocide. She has used art as a bridge between the nations and a common language that everyone can understand.
“As we have been invited from different places, we do not need to talk too much when we look to her great production. Everyone here can feel the artistic expressions,” Ambassador Almassri said.
Ms Delchambre, since 2000, has had more than 54 exhibitions in Zimbabwe, South Africa, the United States, Shanghai and in Europe, and also participated at the 2004 Harare Biennale.
In her remarks, she said the depth of suffering going on in Palestine, Iran, Syria and other countries is not reflecting anything helpful to humanity and only art can help people stand together.
“We try to be conscious and active to help humanity. Art has brought us to this point where we can all get united. Here in Zimbabwe we can only be good, warm and kind to one another. And that is what counts,” Ms Delchambre said.
