A PARTNERSHIP to raise funds for the upkeep and welfare of people with albinism by gospel artists Mathias Mhere, Dorcas Moyo and Batsirai Shasha has started to bear fruits.
The trio teamed up with local preacher, Evangelist Eria Chibvongo, to stage their maiden show at Nyaradzai Hall in Zvishavane on Saturday.
The event also coincided with a family deliverance session after the music show and all proceeds will be channelled to support people with albinism.
In an interview with H-Metro, Mhere said he was happy to be part of the mission.
“This is a great vision by Evangelist Eria Chibvongo and I am proud to associate with the initiative that will see us raise funds for the welfare of people with albinism.
“I had a wonderful time in Zvishavane and believe our partnership with Dorcas Moyo and Batsirai Shasha will yield more results as we go around the country to raise funds for albinism welfare charity,” said Mhere.
For Moyo, this is a chance to increase her fan base.
“I love meeting my fans across the country and after we launched our maiden show in Zvishavane I hope to meet them in different cities as we go about raising funds for the welfare of people with albinism.
“We will be coming to your cities soon, come support us as we all take part in this great initiative,” said Moyo.
She played her popular songs including ‘Munoramba Muri Mwari’, ‘Wakabuda Sei’, ‘Tirikutandara’, ‘Kundirwira’, ‘Ndoimba Sei,’ among others.
Shasha echoed the same sentiments.
“It was a great experience to perform for the whole family in Zvishavane, I enjoyed every moment and would love to do this again as we go across the country.”
Evangelist Chibvongo said the mission was to bring families to their favourite musicians while also delivering them from different bondages.
“The idea behind all this is to kill two birds with one stone, we want to raise funds for the welfare of people with albinism and also minister deliverance to the whole family.
“We have plans to go around the country with the three artists, raising the funds and, if the funds permit, we will donate sunscreen lotions, hats and various essentials to more than 1000 people with albinism in the country.”
