Former “Big Brother Mzansi” housemate Ash-ley Ogle has broken her silence following a public statement released by Sweet Guluva’s team, firmly denying claims that he attempted to be involved during her pregnancy or after the birth of her son.
In a statement shared on her Instagram stories, Ogle addressed what she described as growing misinformation surrounding her pregnancy and the paternity of her newborn son, Kenzo-Lu. This comes after Sweet Guluva’s team claimed that he had been trying to meet the child and engage Ogle’s family in line with cultural processes.
Ogle, however, disputes this entirely.
“I would like to put it on record that no such attempt has been made to me and my family,” she said. “I cannot deny access to someone that has made no attempt to be part of the pregnancy or the birth of my son.”
This comes after Sweet Guluva’s statement revealed that he has made attempts to meet the baby but was met with resistance.
She went on to clarify that the last communication she had with Sweet Guluva, whose real name is Akhonamathemba Zwane, only took place after she had already given birth. According to Ogle, the conversation centred on whether he was registered on the child’s birth certificate.
“The last contact I had with Akhonamathemba Zwane was after the birth of my son and the only thing that he wanted to know was if he was registered on the birth certificate,” she explained. “I responded, ‘No, I didn’t register you as you were not present.’”
Ogle added that while he requested to meet in a public space, she declined due to having just given birth and not feeling comfortable at the time.
Responding to claims made about following Zulu cultural processes, Ogle said her family was disrespected throughout her pregnancy, stating that no proper procedures were followed.
“Since he mentioned the ‘Zulu culture’, my parents have been disrespected throughout the whole process of my pregnancy as proper procedure was not followed,” she said.
She also detailed the emotional toll the past months have taken on her, alleging harassment and public scrutiny from Sweet Guluva’s fans and friends.
“I have gone to hell and back throughout my pregnancy, while enduring all the public bullying from his fans and some of his friends, public humiliation, defamatory remarks and being judged about my mental health,” Ogle wrote.
Ogle further claimed that her private life had been shared without her consent with former housemates, friends, family members and fans.
While addressing Sweet Guluva’s recent statements questioning the child’s paternity, Ogle emphasised that she is done engaging publicly on the matter and that it will be handled between their legal representatives – IOL.
