A TEN-YEAR-OLD author, Jean Botso, is set to unveil two books today in Chegutu

The books are titled ‘The Exciting Story Of Chipo The Bird’ and ‘Who Am I: The Exciting Story Of Jack The Tadpole’.

Jean is part of the Creative Kids being hosted by Essential Books Publishing Company to give a voice and nurture young talent from Early Childhood Development (ECD) stage in schools.

Speaking on Jean’s behalf, EBPC chairperson, Aleck Kaposa, said the young author always displayed courage in his work and never gave up approaching the highest offices until she was taken seriously.

“She started off by just drawing pictures from ECD and she would go and show the headmaster with no fear of approaching such a high office.

“The head encouraged her to put words in order to explain her drawings and this birthed an author in her.

“At home, she would wake up and say I have a story to her parents and then narrate it till they encourage her to write them down.

“I would say she is naturally talented and academically gifted as she usually comes out tops in her class.

“As for the launch, the Mashonaland Provincial Education Director, Gabriel Mhuma, and the Chegutu District Schools Inspector, will be there.

“I urge young authors to attend so that they can be inspired by her, and it will also be a platform to learn for those who want to venture into writing,” said Aleck.
