Performance Contract award conferred on Agriculture and Rural Development Authority, will give it impetus to redouble its efforts in agriculture production and productivity to ensure food security both at the household and national level in the country.
Arda was one of the state entities that got first prize in the performance evaluation award that was conferred on senior public officials yesterday at an event that was presided over by President Mnangagwa.
In an interview, Arda’s chief executive officer, Mr Tinotenda Mhiko, said the Second Republic’s agriculture policy initiatives were bearing fruit on Arda and many other state entities to ensure food self-sufficiency in line with National Development Strategy 2.
“It is a great honour to receive this award for the third time in a row, and undeniably, I am so overwhelmed and grateful to be recognised in this manner,” said Mr Mhiko.
“Indeed, this last year has been so eventful and we achieved some remarkable milestones, building on the achievements of the previous years.
“Inevitably, this award gives me, individually and my entire team at Arda as a collective, huge impetus to keep putting my shoulder to the wheel as we strive to achieve our mandate in line with the Agriculture, Food Systems and Rural Transformation Strategy 2, Rural Development 8.0 and NDS2 blueprints.”
Arda was recognised for its role in record wheat production, which surpassed targets among other achievements.
