South Africa AmaPiano vocalist Babalwa M who is credited as a voice behind a number of hits including Mkhuzeni, Inkomo Zamalobolo, Umuzi Kababa, to mention a few, will be making her first appearance in Bulawayo as she is scheduled to perform at a local joint on December 21.
Her appearance comes after her husband Kelvin Momo, dropped a stellar performance at Cosmopolitan VIP Club in August. Babalwa who has done a lot of projects with Momo, is expected to raise the bar much higher as her performance will be a way of maintaining the festive mood in the city of Kings.
Organiser of the event Mduduzi Mdlongwa revealed that the show is meant to accommodate ladies who enjoy AmaPiano music and appreciate the sense of going out.

Mdlongwa revealed that, local female artistes will be considered to share the stage with Babalwa M as the show is all about women empowerment and celebrating the efforts that women make everyday.
“Women play a pivotal role in our community and I can say they are the ones who make sure everything is going according to plan in most of our lives. Even when a man is successful, there is that supportive woman who always cheers and believes in her man’s dreams.
“As such, as the year ends, we decided to do something exciting for women, for them to celebrate their success and achievements they attained during the course of the year. We are bring Babalwa M to Bulawayo because she is that strong female figure who has been through trials and tribulations, and emerged victorious.
“Her story is very inspiring and we hope that many who are inspired by her, will come and celebrate life with Babalwa through music and dance,” said Mdlongwa.
One of the local female artistes – DJ Liz, who has been roped in to be part of the event, said she is looking forward to sharing the stage with Babalwa M.
“I am proud to have been called to be part of this gig, as I am one person who admires Babalwa’s music and life. She is such a strong figure in the AmaPiano space as she has contributed a lot of smash hits in the game.
“This show is all about celebrating us as women and I am excited to be part of the movement. We (women) are a pillar of a lot of things in life and we are bound to be recognised for our efforts. As we are already in the festive mood, I believe this show will give us purpose as sisters to come together and celebrate life,” said DJ Liz.
