ZANU PF Mazowe District Coordinating Committee (DCC) Youth Affairs Secretary Cde Timothy Gorejena has implored youths across Mazowe District to actively participate in the forthcoming public hearings on Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 (CAB-3), describing the process as a critical platform for shaping the country’s developmental trajectory.
Cde Gorejena said the mobilisation of young people to attend and contribute to the hearings sought to consolidate support for the ruling party’s resolutions adopted at its national conference.
Central to these resolutions is the proposal to extend the presidential term by two years to allow President Mnangagwa to complete ongoing development, empowerment and people-centred projects.
“The youth constituency remains a vital pillar in national development. Their full participation in these public hearings will not only affirm their voice in governance processes but also strengthen the implementation of party resolutions that seek to accelerate Vision 2030,” said Cde Gorejena.
He said the extension of the Presidential term was anchored on the need to sustain policy continuity and ensure the successful delivery of key infrastructure, economic and social programmes already underway.
Cde Gorejena further emphasised that Mazowe District was firmly aligned with Mashonaland Central Province in endorsing CAB-3, highlighting that the district’s grassroots structures were already mobilising communities to turn out in large numbers.
“Mazowe is fully behind CAB-3. Our district stands united in supporting initiatives that guarantee stability, continuity and the attainment of an upper middle-income economy by 2030,” he said.
The upcoming public hearings are expected to provide citizens with an opportunity to express their views on the proposed constitutional amendments, with Zanu PF structures in Mazowe intensifying awareness campaigns to ensure maximum youth participation.
