MIRROR, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?
Tomorrow, we will have a new beauty queen. All is now set for Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2025 at Harare’s Hippodrome.
A bevy of nine beauties from across Zimbabwe will battle it out for the coveted title.
Onesimo Nkomo, Samkhele Dhlamini, Charmaine Emmanuel, Chiedza Mhosva, Brenda Kadewe, Rumbidzai Muzopa, Annie Grace Mutambu, Talic Magaiza and Lyshanda Moyo are vying for the prestigious crown.
They were supposed to be 10 finalists but one withdrew last Saturday ahead of the bootcamp.
Charlotte Muziri dropped out after saying she had another project she had committed too prior to the battle for the Miss Universe crown.
The dates of the two projects ended up clashing. According to sources, Muziri left the country for the World Fashion Exhibition in France.
The winner will walk away with a car, a cash prize to be revealed on the night, and a ticket to represent the country at this year’s edition of Miss Universe in Thailand.
This year’s pageant is exciting as it includes former beauty queens who have made significant marks in the industry.
These are Chiedza, Miss World Zimbabwe 2017, and Annie Grace, Miss Zimbabwe 2015.
There are also married contestants, such as Chiedza and Onesimo, who is a mother based in Bulawayo.
Lyshanda is said to be engaged.
The winner will fill Sakhile Dube’s shoes.
On Wednesday, Sakhile hosted a dinner party with the nine girls where she shared tips and her experience on the ramp.
She said she was happy with the quality of the field and promised to work with the winner until she goes to Thailand.
Organisers of the event told H-Metro yesterday:
“The girls will wear their evening gowns, the judges are all in town.”
“South African television superstar, Connie Ferguson, is arriving tomorrow (this morning) at 1145am as she is expected to lead the judges delegation which include Miss Zimbabwe-Diaspora 2017, Roseanna Hall, Pan African executive banker, George Nheweyembwa, Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2023, Brooke Bruk Jackson, award-winning luxury travel content creator and blogger Paloma Mlunjwana, former super model Tsungai Makwanya and Zak Hawa,” said pageant national director, Tendai Hunda.
Hunda said renowned radio and television personalities – Arthur Evans and Becky K – will host the show while entertainment will be provided by Enzo Ishall and Tammy Moyo.
