MISS Supranational contestant Pauline Marere says she is enjoying the food in Poland where she will take part in the beauty pageant set for June 28.

It’s her first time in Europe and the food, and the weather conditions, have been quite a surprise for her.

“This is my first time in Poland and I’m actually the first person in my family to ever travel to Europe,” she told the Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub in an interview.

“It’s very cold and the food is different from what we usually eat in Africa but I’m definitely enjoying it.

“My journey has been nothing but exciting and I am very excited to be finally here.

“It’s been years of preparing, years of hoping and looking forward to being there.

“This is one of the big five international pageants and I’m so excited that I’m finally here and it’s the platform that I’ve always wanted.”

She added:

“I’m one person who likes looking good. I believe that when you look good you do good and when you feel good, you always perform at your best.

“So, whenever I prepare my wardrobe, I go on Pinterest, I look for designs that best fit my body.

“I also like clothes that will be tight so that I can showcase my body.”

Pauline said a victory for her will be a huge boost for Zimbabwe.

“If I am to win, this will be a dream come true for Zimbabwe. I believe that we are a country with so many talented models but none of us have had the opportunity to break through, especially on big platforms, like Miss Supranational.

“So, getting this title will be a very big achievement for our country and I believe I would have made history in Zimbabwe and also in the pageant world because we’ve never had a Zimbabwean who has won an international title in the Big Five.

“I’m really looking forward to the journey and I’m really prepared for it. I believe that as a nation we need to do more when it comes to supporting models that are representing Zimbabwe on the international platform.

“I am one person who really wants to urge every Zimbabwean out there to support our country. If a girl goes to represent the country, it’s not just for her, but it’s for the entire nation.”
