BENJANI Mwaruwari received his appointment letter as Highlanders head coach yesterday and is set to arrive in Bulawayo tomorrow to begin his new job at Bosso.
The Undertaker, who was part of the Bosso family as a junior player, before finding fame elsewhere, will leave his base in England today.
He will arrive in the City of Kings tomorrow to begin his latest adventure as a head coach.
“Benji’s appointment letter arrived in England today (yesterday) and so did his air ticket for him to travel to Zimbabwe,” sources said.
“It’s now all set for him and the club to start working together in his new role as the head coach.
“It has been an eventful few days but it’s now sorted and he will soon be on his way to come and work here in Bulawayo.”
It’s now believed South African gaffer Thabo Senong will come in as Benjani’s assistant.
When contacted last night, Benjani refused to be drawn into the talk, keeping his cards close as speculation swirled across WhatsApp groups, social media and the city’s football corners.
Highlanders CEO, Denzel Mnkandla, said the club will not confirm anything until there is something signed and final.
“The Benjani issue is an issue that the club has not spoken about or responded to, and rightly so,” said Mnkandla.
“It will remain that way until the club and Benjani have an agreement of some sort. Nothing to comment on at this time.”
