CATHOLIC Mission- run Berejena High School, established in 1956, in the Chivi rural district of Masvingo Province under Masvingo Diocese, is proving to be a beacon of academic excellence and centre of spiritual growth.
The school is located approximately 85 kms from Masvingo CBD.
Analysis of the recently-released Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council (ZIMSEC) 2025 A-Level results has shown that 10 of its 14 subjects have a 100 percent pass rate, while four other subjects are at 80 percent pass rate, and above.
Conversely, twenty three of its students came out tops with 10 points and above, as the school continues to be a shining example in the education sector.
The school also tabled its highest achievers by field category in the released 2025 A-Level results.
In the Arts, Dewa Sozo became the highest achiever with 18 points, while a Form Three student, Lincoln Gopo, proved her academic mettle with 13 points at A-Level.
The brilliant educational performance by the Form Three student is something that has become the talk of the Chivi community and the province at large. Lincoln, who is also the Minister of Energy and Power Development in the Junior Parliament, wrote his A-Level examination while in Form Three last year, and got the following results: Economic History A, History A and Sociology C.
Meanwhile, Courage Shumba became the highest achiever in the Sciences with 18 points, while Tapiwanashe Ruwanza came out tops in the Commercials with 18 points as well.
It is also worth mentioning that this is not the first time for Berejena High School to achieve such impressive results.
Last year, the Catholic-run school achieved a 98 percent pass rate and was ranked among Zimbabwe’s top 100 schools.
Berejena High School head, George Gopo, hailed the responsible authority, ably represented by the Priest-In-Charge, Reverend Father Fidelis Dakwa, and the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education as well the School Development Committee, for all this success.
