WHAT is happening in our city?
Vehicles have become convenient bedrooms for couples, mainly those in illicit relationships, and this is happening in different areas, even in broad daylight.
Yours Truly understands that calls of nature are difficult to ignore, including the desire to engage in sexual activity, but the rate at which vehicles are now being used as bedrooms, even in public spaces, has gone to extremes.
The actors in these public displays have become so daring that they no longer wait for the cover of darkness.
As if that was not enough, they are now invading public spaces around the city, and Blabber has noticed the growing number of areas that have been turned into parks, smash and leave joints.
Take the area where we used to buy second-hand clothes, opposite that other major football facility in the city.
Yes, right there in the open, vehicles have become bedrooms.
Today, Yours Truly can reveal that some of the major actors in this real-life drama are owners of the few registered taxis we have in our beloved city.
There is also that other place that is normally referred to as old, even though people still board buses and kombis from there. This one is mainly used at night.
If you think Blabber is lying, ask that bus company manager who has literally turned the place into his own home ground.
I mean the one who manages that other very efficient bus company, and moves around in a very common subcompact five-door hatchback that is white in colour.
This one is a maniac, and Yours Truly need a dedicated article for him. His is truly a story for another day.
There is that other open ground in a high-density suburb near a certain shopping centre whose name is just a letter of the alphabet and a numerical figure.
When the ground is resting from the pounding of football players, the tyres of moving lodges take over. This area is on your way to that other high-density suburb where their hobbies are in their houses.
Who does not know about that other local nature reserve?
The reserve, too, has not been spared, with vehicles parked in secluded spots under the guise of sightseeing.
Blabber will go ahead and name all the points that have been turned into convenient bedrooms for couples, mainly in illicit relationships, hoping that common sense will prevail and people will start to show some sense of decency.
The city has lodges, hotels and guest houses for such privacy. Public spaces are for the public, not for private acts.
The cars may have tinted windows, but the city has eyes.
If we continue like this, we will need traffic officers, not for traffic, but for bedroom conduct.
I take my bow!
