BOSSO BOARD: TIME TO PACK UP, RETIRED COL DEMANDS!..“Sebeyibulele! These lifers are Killing Highlanders!”

Sikhumbuzo Moyo

FORMER Highlanders board heavyweight, Retired Colonel Thomas Ngwenya, has thrown down the gauntlet, demanding the entire Bosso board step down immediately amid accusations of a “toxic” and endless grip on power.

In a no-holds-barred interview, Ngwenya blasted the current directors for overstaying their welcome, saying there’s no place for lifetime appointments in any club, and that Highlanders’ leadership has long passed its sell-by date.

“I wrote my resignation letter in 2018 after sharp clashes with some board members who wanted to run the club their way. We were told our 10-year term was up and we had to go, but these people stayed,” he said.

Ngwenya revealed that attempts to raise the issue at AGMs were brushed aside with empty promises, leaving fans and stakeholders stuck with the same faces recycling power.

“The same individuals run the board of directors AND the board of trustees. Where is transparency? Where are checks and balances?” he thundered.

The retired Colonel also warned that toxic interference from the boardroom is killing Bosso’s chances on the pitch.

“Sometimes it’s not the coach’s fault, boardroom drama brings bad luck to the team. There’s one person who wants to control everything and it’s poisoning the club,” he said.

Ngwenya insisted his voice echoes the frustration of many fans:

“Don’t hide my name, put it boldly. I say, the Bosso board must go. Sebeyibulele!”

With Highlanders’ fans desperate for change, it seems the pressure is mounting for a boardroom shake-up that could finally bring fresh hope to the Bulawayo giants.

Watch this space: The battle for Bosso’s soul is far from over!
