BULAWAYO giants Highlanders have secured a landmark US$676 000 medical partnership with Corporate 24 Medical Aid, a development set to significantly strengthen the club’s welfare structures ahead of the new season.
The agreement, which took effect yesterday, provides structured healthcare support to 50 beneficiaries — including first team players, technical staff and administrative personnel. Each individual will receive a medical package valued at US$13 000, covering diagnostics, specialist treatment, rehabilitation services and a broad range of essential healthcare needs.
For Highlanders, the deal relieves a major operational burden while ensuring access to professional medical support in a domestic football environment where comprehensive healthcare is not always guaranteed.
Corporate 24 Medical Aid Southern Region general manager, Thompson Muchineuta, said:
“Corporate 24 Medical Aid is proud to announce a strategic medical partnership with Highlanders Football Club, one of Zimbabwe’s most historic and celebrated football institutions. Under this agreement, Corporate 24 Healthcare will provide comprehensive medical aid cover to Highlanders FC players, the technical team, and administrative staff.

The partnership is designed to ensure immediate access to high-quality medical services, advanced diagnostics, specialist care, and structured rehabilitation support throughout the competitive season. As a healthcare provider committed to excellence, Corporate 24 Medical Aid recognises the critical role that professional medical support plays in elite sport. Football demands peak physical performance, and maintaining player health is essential to achieving consistent success on the field.
“Through this collaboration, Corporate 24 will deliver responsive, reliable, and world-class medical solutions tailored to the needs of professional athletes. This partnership reflects Corporate 24 Medical Aid’s broader commitment to supporting Zimbabwean sport and promoting wellness within communities. By aligning with Highlanders FC, Corporate 24 reinforces its mission to provide accessible, quality healthcare services that empower individuals and institutions to perform at their best. The sponsorship agreement takes effect immediately and will run through the end of the 2026 calendar year, with an option for extension based on mutual agreement.”
Highlanders’ chief executive officer, Denzil Mnkandla, welcomed the partnership, describing it as a strategic collaboration between two institutions dedicated to service excellence. “Highlanders represents performance, passion and national reach. Corporate 24 represents care, protection and service excellence. Together, we unite sport and healthcare, with two institutions that fundamentally serve the people.
“Beyond the figures, the value lies in service delivery. Our players now have guaranteed access to emergency care, hospitalisation, ambulance evacuation services, pathology, radiology, dental cover, prescribed medication and wide national healthcare.
“This ensures that when our athletes step onto the field they do so with confidence, knowing their health is protected. This is more than a sponsorship. It is a strategic alignment of legacy and service. It is football meeting healthcare. It is protection supporting performance,” said Mnkandla.
The agreement runs until the end of the 2026 calendar year, underscoring Highlanders’ commitment to professionalism, player welfare and sustained competitive standards.
