RISING triathlon star Zander Botha is looking forward to more competition following the resumption of local events at Mount Pleasant pool at the weekend.

Botha had a good day when coming first in the Junior Men (Under-17/Under-19), where he was up against the likes of Callum Smith, Matthew Hildebrand, and Stanley Chasakara.

“It was a good race. I love this competition here today. I felt great throughout the entire race.

“I really enjoyed it very much,” said Botha.

It was the first event after the holidays break, and he is hoping to make the team for the Africa Junior Championships in Egypt next month.

He has also set his eyes on events in South Africa and Namibia.

“I am considering to go to four more tours during March. I will be going to Benoni for South Africa Junior Championships.

“And then I will be going to Troutbeck. Then I will be going to Swakopmund for the Namibia Championships. Then down to Port Elizabeth in South Africa,” said Botha
