NEWLY appointed Highlanders head coach Thabo Senong has arrived in Bulawayo, touching down at Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport this afternoon to officially begin his tenure at the country’s oldest football club.
Senong was welcomed on arrival by Highlanders chief executive officer Denzel Mnkandla and assistant coach Mkhokheli Dube, who recently returned to the club as part of the new technical set-up.
The arrival of the experienced South African tactician has heightened anticipation among Bosso supporters, coming just days after the club confirmed his appointment in a move widely seen as a statement of intent ahead of the new season.
Senong brings with him a wealth of experience at elite level, having worked with the South African senior and Under-20 national teams, the Lesotho senior men’s national side, and having achieved notable success in youth football, including winning the COSAFA Under-20 Cup in 2013.

His assistant, Dube, a former Bosso player, is expected to play a key role in ensuring continuity and reinforcing the club’s culture, values and identity within the squad.
Senong is expected to be officially unveiled to the players and supporters in the coming days, with the club indicating that further additions to the technical team and playing staff will be announced in due course.
