Fast-rising Amapiano duo Peezet Samfana and Dynamite from Pumula suburb in Bulawayo are celebrating their first year in the music industry with a major milestone, nominations at the Pumula Royal Arts and Community Awards (Pracas), slated for December 20.
The duo is nominated for Best Newcomer (All Genres), while individually, Peezet Samfana is up for Outstanding Musician and Dynamite for Best Female Dancer, recognition that highlights their unique talents and growing influence in both music and performance.
Formed in 2024, the partnership has quickly gained traction with three singles; Good Vibes, Achuu and Emabhozeni, all of which are receiving significant airplay on local radio.
Peezet Samfana said the nominations show that their hard work and dedication are paying off.
“It’s great to be nominated at the Pracas this year. The nominations are a great boost to our careers, especially since we’re new to the game. To celebrate our anniversary with these nods is a great achievement that will go down in memory lane, as it’s rare for starters to gain such recognition,” he said.
With growing momentum behind them, the pair believes this could be their breakthrough moment.
“The categories we’re nominated in are tight, but we’re looking forward to winning and dedicating the accolades to our fans who’ve supported our hustle and music since day one.”
Dancer-cum-musician Dynamite said she is thrilled that her versatility has been recognised.
“Growing up, I was more talented in dancing as I was part of several dance groups. I knew that one day I would make it, as I believed it was a matter of time before I got my chance.
“After meeting Peezet Samfana, he convinced me that I had the potential to sing. I doubted myself at first, but our first experiment in the studio worked out, and since then, I never looked back.
“We’ve had a successful year, and these nominations are evidence of that. My talents have also paid off as I’m nominated in both the dancing and singing categories,” she said.
Beyond the awards, the duo is gearing up for an even bigger year ahead, having completed their debut album set for release in 2026.
“We’ve already finished recording and mixing our first album titled For the Love of AmaPiano, which I’m very sure our fans will love. The project features fresh tracks and a remix of Emabhozeni, which includes contributions from various local Gqom creatives.
“Most of the songs will be accompanied by videos, so fans must brace for great music with clean visuals as we aim to build a solid brand that Bulawayo will cherish,” said Peezet Samfana.
