“I am honored to receive these awards. For me, awards are a reflection of the team’s hard work and the trust our customers place in us. We started this journey to solve problems for our people and to be recognized for that means a lot,” he said.
“This recognition is a fuel to keep innovating, keep raising the bar and keep contributing to the growth of the economy and solving the needs of our people thorough the foundation. My goal remains on building something that lasts and create opportunities for others.”
Mr Samuriwo also applauded the Second Republic led by President Mnangagwa for creating a conducive environment for local businesses to thrive.

In his remarks, BBA organiser Mr Philimon Nyirenda said the awards serve as a reminder that a city is defined not only by its infrastructure but also by the ambition and integrity of the people and businesses that shape it.
He said Bulawayo stands at a pivotal crossroads and that the BBA initiative reflects a collective commitment to ensuring that the city’s future is built on innovation, ethical business practices and inclusive growth.

“By establishing this gold standard, we are doing more than just handing out trophies. We are building a cohesive business ecosystem where commercial success and social responsibility are no longer viewed as separate goals, but as two sides of the same coin,” said Mr Nyirenda.
“When a Bulawayo business thrives ethically, the city breathes easier, its people prosper, and its future brightens.
“We invite you to join us in this race to the top. Whether as a nominee, a strategic partner, or a mentor, your participation is an investment in the Bulawayo we aspire to be: a hub of sustainable African commerce and a beacon of urban prosperity.”
Mr Nyirenda said entrepreneurs should move beyond merely operating within the city and begin actively investing in its long-term development.
“Together, let’s turn the heartbeat of national commerce into a steady drumbeat of excellence that resonates across the continent,” he added.
