ZIMBABWEAN champions Scottland may be licking their wounds, after their painful CAF Champions League exit, but their brand continues to attract high-profile admirers.

British R&B star, Keisha White, is the latest to declare her affection for Mabviravira.

White, famed for the hit songs ‘The Weakness In Me’ and ‘Don’t Care Who Knows’, has revealed that she has been Scottland for some time, describing the Zimbabwean outfit as an “amazing team”.

“Hey guys, it’s Keisha White here and I just wanted to let you guys in on something.

“I have been following Scottland Football Club from Zimbabwe for a while now.

“I think they’re an amazing team,” White posted on her social media platforms over the weekend.

Her message comes at a difficult time for Scottland, who crashed out of the CAF Champions League last Friday after surrendering their 2-0 first-leg advantage against Angolan giants Petro Atletico de Luanda, losing the tie 3-2 on aggregate.

The continental disappointment also cost veteran coach Norman Mapeza his job as the club’s decision-makers moved to make changes following their elimination.

Scottland are also facing a battle to retain their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League crown, with debutants Hardrock leading the title race by eight points, although Mabviravira have two games in hand.

And White, who reveals her desire to one-day visit Zimbabwe, seems to be aware of Mabviravira’s demise in the Champions League.

“They had a match and they lost 3-0 but I just wanted to let them know that I believe they’re going to come back bigger, better and stronger next year and that every setback is a set-up for something great.

“I’m looking forward to coming to see you guys in Harare and watch you play.

“I just wanted to let you know that I’m rooting for you guys and I believe they’re the next big champions,” she added.

White’s message further underlines the growing international attention around Scottland, whose ambitious recruitment drive and financial muscle have made them a prominent force in Zimbabwean football.

Mabviravira have also attracted interest across the region.

White joins a list of international stars who have been associated with Scottland.

Former Liverpool striker Emile Heskey, American rapper Rick Ross, and Amapiano star Scotts Maphuma.
