Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos is determined to revisit and analyse the team immediately upon arriving in South Africa.
South Africa has been eliminated from the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco.
After the 2-1 defeat to Cameroon, Bafana coach Broos stated in the post-match interview that a thorough evaluation of the strike force is crucial before the team prepares for the World Cup in June.
“In the coming days or weeks, we will evaluate this AFCON, just as we did three years ago, to identify what worked and what did not, and to improve,” Broos told the media during a press conference.
“While I could make statements now, losing this game and being eliminated from AFCON naturally brings frustration, sadness, and disappointment. Sometimes, opinions expressed in the heat of the moment are regretted later.
“Therefore, I will refrain from making hasty judgments. However, I emphasise that a comprehensive review of our AFCON performance is essential to guide our future efforts.”
With the eagerly awaited tournament now within reach, Broos’ men would be hoping to improve on past mistakes if they want to compete at the highest level of the sport − Kick Off.
