UNITED Kingdom-based creative Bruce “The Njube Giant” Ncube is investing in the next generation of arts practitioners by bringing his daughter, Ashley, into his growing creative enterprise.
Renowned for his theatre work and innovative workshops that teach traditional Zimbabwean songs through diverse harmonies, Ncube has appointed Ashley as his administrator and personal assistant, a move aimed at supporting his expanding operations and equipping her with practical experience in the creative industry.
The appointment comes as Ncube continues to broaden his footprint across Europe through teaching and performance workshops, a schedule that has seen him travelling extensively throughout the year.
Announcing the development, Ncube said the growth of his arts business had created a need for additional administrative support.
“It is with great pleasure that I announce that my eldest daughter, Ashley, will now be part of my team, taking on the role of administrator and personal assistant.
“This decision comes after the growth of my arts business, which has seen me travel a lot more every year. Almost every weekend, I find myself in a different town, city, village or country, leaving me with very little time to focus on administrative duties, especially as I also have another job from Monday to Friday,” he said.
Ncube said the move goes beyond business needs, as it also provides an opportunity to mentor his daughter and expose her to the operational side of the entertainment sector.
“I’m not complaining about the growth of my business at all. It is what every artiste prays for: a busy schedule, which always comes with having a strong clientele base. I am fortunate to have that support, and I am grateful that you all allow me to be in a position where I can employ my children, teach them new skills and pay them well through my talents,” he said.
He described Ashley as a confident, intelligent and self-driven young woman with strong communication skills, qualities he believes will serve her well in her new role.
For Ncube, the appointment is not only about managing a thriving creative brand but also about building a lasting legacy by creating pathways for young people to gain industry exposure and develop professional skills within the arts sector.
