PEOPLE from various sectors of the Bulawayo community took to the streets early Saturday morning as the 10th edition of the Zimpapers Cancer Power Walk got underway, uniting communities across the country in the ongoing fight against cancer.

In Bulawayo, participants gathered at the Chronicle building at dawn before setting off on the symbolic walk through the city’s streets.

The event, which began at 6 a.m., also features a lively Zumba and aerobics session, keeping spirits high and reinforcing the event’s health and fitness message.

Now in its 10th year, the Zimpapers Cancer Power Walk has grown into a national movement, with simultaneous walks taking place in Harare, Gweru, Mutare, Masvingo, and Chinhoyi. Early reports from these centres indicate strong turnouts, with participants from all walks of life – corporate teams, schools, health advocates, and families – joining the cause.

Running under the theme “United by Unique,” the 2025 edition celebrates the power of unity in diversity, reminding Zimbabweans that cancer knows no boundaries of age, gender, race, or background.
