Bulawayo is gearing up to host the biggest event on the Catholic choir calendar, as 30 choirs from eight dioceses, including Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare, Masvingo, Chinhoyi, Hwange, and Gokwe, prepare to converge in the city on Saturday to showcase their talents and compete for top honours.

The festival celebrates togetherness and faith, featuring choirs spanning all ages, from children and youths to adults and senior citizens.
“With over 15 000 music enthusiasts expected to attend, this event promises to be a truly unforgettable experience. We invite everyone to come and experience the beauty of music, faith, and community,” said Tafara Mangoma, chairperson of the Zimbabwe Catholic Association for Sacred Music organising committee.
“This is an event that will uplift your spirit, inspire your soul, and leave you feeling grateful for the gift of music,” he added.
The defending champions, Northwest City Deanery from Harare, will be aiming to retain their crown, but face stiff competition from other talented choirs.
“The stage is set for an inspiring showdown. May the best choir win, and may God be glorified as we commune at this most anticipated festival,” said Codza Chimuka, musician, choir coach, and participant from Southwest City Deanery.
