South African powerhouse vocalist Mawhoo, known for hits like Bengicela and Ngiyamthanda, is returning to Bulawayo for a performance at a local nightspot on November 28.
Fans are already buzzing ahead of what promises to be one of Bulawayo’s biggest nights this November, as the city gears up for the festive season.
One of the event organisers, Manu Mahaso, described the show as a step toward raising the profile of Bulawayo’s entertainment scene.
“We’re bringing in Mawhoo as she’s a hit-maker, currently one of the most trending artistes worldwide. We’re confident she’ll draw a huge crowd,” he said.
The night will also highlight local talent, featuring performances from Noluntu J, Fab G Mshanakagogo, and Mzoe 7, alongside DJs Dosto, DJ Eugy, DJ Nospa, FFF Molfy, and DJ Liz, with Khekhe as host.
“The supporting acts and DJs are exceptional entertainers who represent Bulawayo’s vibrant scene. It promises to be an event that will get everyone into the festive season mood,” Mahaso added.
Following the success of the nightspot’s recent Saintfloew and Nisha Ts show, which sold out, organisers are promising an even bigger experience.
“Our patrons can expect quality hospitality. Security will be tight and we’ve already started selling advance tickets to avoid long queues on the day. We’ll also have a few surprises lined up to spice up the night,” they said.
MaWhoo, born Thandeka Nontobeko Ngema, is a singer, songwriter, and model celebrated for her distinctive voice and versatile sound that fuses Amapiano, House, and Maskandi. She first rose to prominence with her 2019 debut single, “Umshado” and has since collaborated with top artistes, including DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small. Beyond music, MaWhoo is also a model and performer, having worked with several high-profile brands.
Her 2025 release, “Bengicela” with GL_Ceekay and “Thukuthela” featuring Jazzworx, has dominated charts, reaching number one on Apple Music’s all-genres chart, trending on YouTube, going viral on Shazam, and peaking at number five on Spotify’s top songs chart.
