A 25-year-old Bulawayo man employed as a security guard has appeared in court for allegedly shooting a complainant once on the left side of the head with a firearm.
Talent Ndlovu of Emthunzini suburb appeared before Western Commonage regional magistrate, Mr Pasipanodya Maturure, on Thursday, facing a charge of attempted murder.
Ndlovu, who is out of custody on bail, was remanded to February 27 for continuation of trial.
Prosecutor Ms Christina Manyika told the court that the accused is a security guard employed by a local security firm.
On January 25, 2026 at around 10PM, the complainant, Noble Ndabezinhle Tshuma (30), was at Sedgemore Bar in the company of his friend, drinking beer.
The court heard that Tshuma became involved in a misunderstanding with other patrons, which escalated into a fist fight, prompting Ndlovu to intervene.
This intervention “did not go down well with the complainant, who engaged in a scuffle with the accused person, leading to Tshuma being shot once on the left side of the head by the accused person,” said Ms Manyika.
A report was made to the police, leading to the arrest of Ndlovu and the subsequent recovery of a firearm, she added.
The complainant was rushed to the hospital for medical attention, said Ms Manyika.
