MODEL Calvin Njovo, who hails from Kadoma, is preparing to represent the country at the Mister Universe International 2025 pageant in Panama in October.

The global event, which brings together contestants from around the world to showcase not only their looks and charisma but also their dedication to social causes, will run from October 6 to 12.

It will feature two categories, Mr Teen Universe International (ages 12–18) and Mr Universe International (ages 19–36), the latter of which Calvin will compete in.

Recently crowned Mr Universe Zimbabwe, Calvin said he is looking forward to representing the country.

“Representing Zimbabwe on the world stage is something I carry with deep pride.

“This opportunity is not just about me, it’s about my community, my country, and the values we stand for.

“My journey is not just about winning titles, I’m building a legacy.

“Through Mister Universe International Zimbabwe, I aim to inspire others to seek support, advocate for change, and contribute to building a healthier, more united society that proudly represents Zimbabwe on the global stage.”

As part of Calvin’s preparations, he is fine-tuning his presentation, deepening his advocacy work, and engaging with young people across Zimbabwe to encourage conversations around wellness and self-worth.

At the heart of his campaign is a deep commitment to fighting addiction and promoting healthcare access without barriers, shaped by personal family struggles.

He believes that using his platform to bring visibility to these issues is part of his greater responsibility as a role model.

His road to Mister Universe International began with notable wins in local pageantry, including Mr Kadoma and Mr Heritage Zimbabwe People’s Choice 2024.

These titles solidified his presence and promise in the industry.

He attributes much of his success to the mentorship and guidance of Mr Shelton Chiyangwa, the director of Mr Heritage Zimbabwe and Mr Universe International Zimbabwe.

The Mister Universe International pageant continues to grow in influence, spotlighting young men who embody leadership, passion, and a desire to transform their communities.
