CANADA-based Zimbabwean artist, Michael “Micyunging” Matewe, says it was always his wish to work with artists from his motherland.

Matewe recently featured T-Gonz on a single titled Unondida Here?

In an interview with H-Metro, Matewe said:

“It reminds me of my history and roots. Keeping up with my home has inspired most of my collaborations.

“Besides that, I enjoyed singing from a tender age. I used to sing in church choirs back home,” he said.

Matewe, who is also an IT engineer, has released several songs which featured Zimbabwean artists, including Ti Gonzi and Noble Stylz, among others.

He is looking forward to working with more artists from Zimbabwe.

Matewe hailed Noble Stylz, who he said is one of the best Zim Hip Hop artists.

In October, he released a single Ndipei Nguva, which featured Noble Stylz.

Matewe said he released an album this year called Sub Saharan after deciding to take music seriously.

The album carries refreshing songs like Nyeredzi and Ngetani.

“My little daughter inspired me to pen the song Nyeredzi; it is a dedication to her.

“She loves music and is always in the studio with me.

“I am trying to set a good foundation for her that even if one day she decides to pursue a music career, I will be able to nurture her,” said Matewe.
