LONDON. – Jamie Carragher brutally mocked Rio Ferdinand after his jibe about Mo Salah.
The pair went back and forth over social media after Salah returned for Liverpool against Brighton.
The Reds legend was left out of recent matches against Leeds and Inter Mlian, but returned to a hero’s welcome at Anfield.
Fans sang his name just days after Carragher accused Salah of “throwing Liverpool under the bus” after the Egyptian made the same claim.
Ferdinand responded by digging out his fellow pundit, tweeting: “Thoughts @Carra23? ‘Mo Salah’ being sung by the Kop.”
Carragher quickly hit back and criticised Ferdinand for his recent support of FIFA, with the former Manchester United star attending the draw last week. He also praised Salah, saying: “And rightly so, he was fantastic when he came on.
“Thoughts on the price of the World Cup tickets @rioferdy5?
“A man of the people would surely call FIFA and Infantino out or was your pay packet for the draw to buy your silence.”
Carragher referenced the extortionate ticket prices FIFA are charging for the 2026 World Cup, with England fans faced with spending at least spending at least £2,245 to watch every match if the Three Lions make the final. Ferdinand had declared he was a “man of the people” ahead of his appearance at the draw. − The Sun
