Introduction to Chess Intelligence
CHESS intelligence is a television game show which is shown on ZBC-ZTV every Monday at 1530.
This show is a children’s programme, presented by children. The participants are also schoolchildren. Children learn some skills from it. They are then asked some questions while judges give points. The judges are schoolchildren. In the end, those with high marks will be given prizes.
IDs, birth certificates to be issued at church
The Registrar-General’s Office will start issuing civil documents such as birth certificates and identity cards at large church gatherings using its mobile units to make it easier for people to access key documents.
The initiative is also part of measures to decentralise the process.
Govt, partners scale up food distribution
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) will be scaling up its food distribution programme to cover 3,5 million people in Zimbabwe, it has been learnt.
The efforts are expected to complement Government’s ongoing efforts to support the 7,7 million Zimbabweans that are considered to be food insecure following the worst drought in 40 years.

Horrific crash claims four
Four occupants of a Honda Fit vehicle perished, while the driver was seriously injured on Friday evening in a horrific head-on collision on a sharp curve just after Gweru.
The driver of the small vehicle, who was reportedly speeding, had encroached into the lane of the oncoming truck while trying to overtake two vehicles.

DPC compensates 23 000 depositors
The Deposit Protection Corporation (DPC) has paid $3,9 million to about 23 000 depositors of six failed banking institutions, the corporation’s chief executive officer, Mr Vumi Vuma, has said.
Mr Vuma said the corporation had to date managed to pay 41 percent of the 54 909 depositors of the six failed banks.
