BANKET-born musician, Amon Chamboko, is steadily making inroads in the music industry throughout Mashonaland West.
His passion for sungura music was inspired by legendary musicians like Leonard Dembo and Tongai Moyo.
By the time he was in Form One, he was already playing the guitar.
Chamboko recorded his first album, ‘Vagoni Vebasa’, in 2020.Although the album did not do well commercially, he remained determined to pursue his musical journey.In 2021, he released his second album titled ‘Inguva Chete’.“I released three singles in 2022 and another album in 2023 titled ‘Kundiso Patsano’,” said Chamboko.
“I also released an album last year titled ‘Zvirimukurarama’ and a single called ‘Ndinotenda’.”
He is now preparing to release another album.
“Some of the tracks on the album include ‘Andivavarira’, ‘Chakanaka’, ‘Nguva Yakaoma’, ‘Ivava Vanangu’ and ‘Rufu ‘Wakaoma,” he said.
“I promise my fans that I will continue giving them the best music, and they should look forward to enjoying my upcoming album.”
He said most of the songs on the forthcoming album focus on the challenges people are facing in today’s world.
