CHARLE TJ RETURNS FROM HIATUS

Mangaliso Kabulika

AFRO jazz artist, Charle TJ, has released two singles titled ‘Maitiro Enyu’ and ‘Moyo Chena’ following a two- year hiatus.

In an interview, Charle TJ said the songs were inspired  by the death of his sisters and betrayal by a close friend.

The musician also said he is working on his second album which will be dropped in November.

“I lost my sisters in 2022 and 2023 and it really affected me as I was close to them.

“I tried to convince the elders in my family to go and consult to find out the cause of death traditionally but neither of them is willing.

“It’s still something that is haunting me because I need closure hence I wrote ‘Maitiro Enyu’ because I feel like the elders in my family are aware of what is going on.

“I also got betrayed by my close friend whom I took care of when he was having financial problems and at the end of the day he stabbed me in the back.

“This inspired my other single ‘Moyo Chena’.

“Music has always been my escapism, especially now that I’m struggling to come to terms with all these life turmoils.

“I’m in the middle of writing and recording my second album which I hope will heal me and my fans following a long break I took from the music scene,” Charle TJ.
