Chevrons beat Namibia

ZIMBABWE have defeated Namibia by 5 wickets with 11 balls remaining in the Chevrons’ last round-robin T20i Tri-series match in Windhoek.

The win keeps the Chevrons hopes alive in the series, but they will rely on South Africa beating Namibia in the last game, if they are to make it to the final.

Innocent Kaia was the star for Zimbabwe, with his 72 off 42 giving the Chevrons an easy chase.

Zimbabwe had won the toss and elected to bowl, before Gerhard Erasmus’ 88 off 48 helped Namibia put 156 on the board. Alexander Busing-Volschenk’s 29 was the only other meaningful contribution to the total.

For Zimbabwe, Brian Bennett and Innocent Kaia 50-run partnership and another featuring Kaia and Sikandar Raza did the damage.
