Chicken lead at the break

Innocent Kurira At Barbourfields Stadium

Chicken Inn 1-0 Agama

CHICKEN Inn go into the half-time break with a slender 1-0 lead over Agama at Barbourfields Stadium after a late penalty from Kankonde Tshisungu separated the two sides in an otherwise wasteful first half.

The GameCocks had several opportunities to take control of the contest but were let down by their finishing, much to the disappointment of their home supporters.
In the eighth minute, Tshisungu found himself with space inside the box but his goal-bound effort was cleared by the Agama defence.

Moments later, Agama suffered an early setback when Jairos Kasondo was forced off through injury.

Eric Matiaba tested Chicken Inn goalkeeper Bernard Donovan in the 15th minute with a powerful long-range effort, forcing the shot-stopper into a save.

Tshisungu also had an opportunity but dragged his effort wide after failing to get his footing right.
Both teams continued to struggle with their finishing, with Agama also guilty of wasting opportunities at the other end.

However, Chicken Inn finally found their breakthrough in the 45th minute when Michael Charamba won a penalty.

Tshisungu stepped up and converted from the spot to give the GameCocks a 1-0 advantage heading into the break.
