CELEBRATED dancer, actor, and musician Muzezuru Chidarikire has hailed the medical staff at Avenues Clinic in Harare for saving his life after he was diagnosed with thrombosis.

The condition caused blood clots to develop in his left leg.

“Words are not enough to explain my gratitude after being treated by a dedicated team at Avenues Clinic in Harare,” he said.

“The staff made my stay at the hospital enjoyable, and I will always cherish them for what they did.

“There were genuine fears that the condition could spread throughout the body if I had delayed seeking treatment.

“I am happy to have been discharged, and I am now home taking my medication and monitoring my condition.”

Now in his early 50s, Chidarikire also praised fans on social media for the genuine love they have shown him.

“When I was sick, there was an outpouring of messages from fans, and I realised that good people still exist. There are some people I last spoke to a long time ago, and last week I saw genuine love from both old and new fans.

“I will always be grateful to God and everybody who came and served my life,” he said.

Better known as Muzezuru, Chidarikire assured fans that he was looking forward to returning to show business once he is fit.

He has been posting videos of himself rehearsing and even shared an acapella version of one of his upcoming songs titled Tese while he was in hospital.

“With the backing of my new management, we have been busy planning for our upcoming album, and I have shared one of the songs called ‘Tese’ in my hospital bed.

“People have been calling me, asking for new stuff, and I cannot keep them waiting for new music.

“The calls and enquiries have been overwhelming, and we are simply ready to give fans something new,” he boldly declared.

The Chinhoyi-born star performer, who is proud of his roots, said he could not resist his love for music and vowed to make an impression when he returns.

“God blessed me with His gift, and I can assure my fans that I will come back stronger than ever,” he boldly declared.

Over the years, he has been alternating between Zimbabwe and South Africa to hone his craft.

In South Africa, he established himself in commercials and soapies, including Scandal.

As a versatile artist, he has explored several music genres, incorporating Kanindo, acapella, soul, and house—especially his album titled “Hona MaUSA”, which is among his rich catalogue of music.

While he also made a name for himself as an actor in South Africa, he showcased his acting talent locally when he featured in Studio 263.

His artistic expertise dates back to 1996, when he was crowned Best Performance Actor by Reps Theatre in Harare.

Chidarikire has been hailed for promoting young talent, which has helped him stand out from the rest. Some of his notable productions include “Zezuru” (2000) and “Ndiringe” (2001), which he recorded with the late Tendai Mupfurutsa’s High Density Records.

These tracks were instrumental in giving him a national profile.

He went on to release the albums “Tarenda” (Never Surrender) (2002) and “Sasa International” two years later.

The versatile creative has been crediting the late Prince Mupfurutsa, Andy Brown, and Safirio Madzikatire (Mukadota) for helping him venture into music—a move that is now paying off.

Now that he has been discharged, the focus has shifted to music production, and his quest is to conquer and shine again.
