ZIMBABWE international goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze has now pocketed a cool R600,000 for winning man-of-the-match awards in the Carling Knockout Cup.
He picked another R100,000 cheque for an outstanding performance for Magesi in their 1-2 defeat at the hands of Orlando Pirates on Tuesday night.
“Thank you again for the love and support you guys have shown me throughout the competition,” he said on social media.
“Your constant support and encouragement really pushed us to do better. Enjoy the rest of the competition and see you soon.”
Shepang Moremi scored a stunning long-range goal as Pirates advanced to the semi-finals of the Carling Knockout Cup at the Orlando Stadium.
Pirates had numerous opportunities to take the lead but Chipezeze seemed to be having an unforgettable game as he denied Yanela Mbuthuma from point-blank range.
Mbuthuma was causing havoc upfront but lacked the finishing touch as the forward also hit the cross-bar while Chipezeze remained an immovable force. – Sports Reporter/SABC
