PROMINENT businessman and philanthropist Wicknell Chivayo has announced that Highlanders executive chairman, Kenneth Mhlophe, is set to receive a brand-new 2026 Toyota Prado valued at US$125,000, in a gesture he described as friendly and supportive of the club’s leadership.
In a public statement, Chivayo said the chairman should visit Faramatsi Motors next week to meet with Farai, who will hand over the vehicle. In addition to the car, Chivayo indicated that US$10,000 would be provided to cover fuel expenses.
“On a separate but friendly note, can the Highlanders club chairman RTD COL Kenneth Mhlophe go to Faramatsi Motors next week and see Farai. He will collect his brand-new 2026 Toyota Prado valued at 125 thousand USD. Farai will also give him 10 thousand USD for fuel,” Chivayo said.
The businessman also took the opportunity to apologize for what he described as an oversight regarding the club’s leadership structure. He acknowledged that he had initially not realized there was a distinction between the board chairman and the club chairman positions.
“I apologize for the oversight. I didn’t realize there was a board chairman and a club chairman; I thought this was one post. The title RTD COL on its own deserves utmost due respect. My apologies once again. I thank you,” he stated.
