City to block Yaya move

LONDON. — Defiant Manchester City insist they will block any attempt by Yaya Toure to force through a move this summer.
Toure has stunned newly-crowned champions City by backing his agent Dimitri Seluk’s claims that the midfielder feels unloved at the club and wants to quit after four years at the Etihad.
Toure also admitted he does not know where his future lies after his agent told Sky Sports News that the midfielder could leave Manchester City.
He risks further enraging Manchester City after admitting he wants to end his career at Barcelona and could leave the club this summer.

Reports emerged on Tuesday that Toure was far from happy about his treatment from the club’s hierarchy over his 31st birthday last week.
Seluk claimed Toure was furious no-one at City made reference to his 31st birthday last week at an official function with owner Sheik Mansour, to celebrate the title triumph, during the club’s post-season tour of Abu Dhabi.

He also told talkSPORT: “If you ask 100 percent or 50-50 (if Toure will stay), better 50-50 than 100.”
Toure himself said “everything is open” regarding his future, despite City insisting that he is not for sale and that they will not renegotiate his £250 000-a-week contract, which still has three years to run.

Despite Toure’s agent claiming the Mancunian Blues insulted him by ignoring his birthday, the club wished him congratulations on their official Twitter feed and on their Facebook page, where the posting attracted more than 130 000 “likes” — the most they have ever received.

Footage also emerged of the club presenting Toure with a cake and singing happy birthday to him — accompanied by members of the cabin crew — on the flight to Abu Dhabi, refuting his agent’s claim they had forgotten the occasion.

Seluk told the BBC on Tuesday: “He got a cake but when it was Roberto Carlos’ birthday, the president of Anzhi gave him a Bugatti (sports car). I don’t expect City to present Yaya with a Bugatti, we only asked that they shook his hand and said, ‘We congratulate you.’

“The club’s owners ate a 100kg cake after winning the Premier League this season but when they and the players were all together, none of them shook his hand on his birthday.

“It shows they don’t care about him. None of them shook his hand on his birthday. It’s really sick.
“If this happened to you as a journalist in the BBC and nobody shakes your hand, you will say bye-bye and go to work for somebody else. It is normal.” — The Mirror.
