COMEDIAN Tinashe “This is it,” Fortune says Zimbabwe’s comedy scene is thriving and comedians are delivering fine performances which are leaving audiences in stitches.

He recently held a show in Johannesburg and shared the stage with Tha Slick Pastor and other South African comedians.

Whether through well-rehearsed one-liners or witty improvisations, these comedians tackle every topic under the sun, sparing no one.

In an interview with Zimpapers’ Arts and Entertainment Hub, Tinashe said the reception overwhelmed him.

“The reception was amazing. People had a very good idea of who I am.

“Number one, the people appreciated who I am as a comedian, as an artist, as a content creator, that’s one thing that I enjoyed.

“Number two, traveling, touring, I’ve toured with Slick Pastor, I’ve toured with Kandoro.

“And that experience goes beyond just going out of Zim, it goes beyond just attending my comedy shows. It’s also a learning experience.”

Tinashe added:

“The festival was a success and it met all our targets and goals. We want to thank the Zimbabweans in South Africa for coming through and watching all our shows.

“Overall, the show was a delightful experience filled with laughter, exceptional performances and a celebration of Zimbabwean talent.

“We also want to thank the Bulawayo people for coming through and watching all our shows.

“It showcased the immense potential and creativity within the comedy industry, leaving the audience thoroughly entertained and appreciative.

“However, there is room for improvement, at times the audience would wait while logistics were being taken care of, something that is a deterrent for those who are not patient, “he said.

Tinashe said he is proud of his achievements.

“It’s also a learning experience of how those things are done, how they manage what’s wrong and what’s done directly and indirectly.

“There were times when even Nigel would tell me ‘so how do we get to this point?’

“It also opens doors because you get to interact with people.

“To my fans, thank you for supporting me.”
