Concillor Gotora urges residents to address water billing concerns to Harare City Council

Ward 17 Councillor Happymore Gotora says residents who are using prepaid water meters but continue to be billed for City of Harare post paid water could still be owing the city.

This follows concerns raised by residents of Sentosa who said they are still receiving water bills based on estimates.

“If anyone has a challenge or a query, they can raise it with our revenue offices and they can be assisted. If they don’t owe anything, it means they are not supposed to be billed,” said Cllr Gotora.

“You only pay for what you have consumed, even before the coming of prepaid water meters. You can’t pay for something that you are not using.

“Now that the prepaid meters are there, it means you pay first, then you use. So if they are being billed, they have to raise the issue with the revenue officer so that it can be rectified.”
