THE Zimbabwe Republic Police has released the names of criminals convicted and sentenced for serious offences during the week ending 12 February 2026.
A 25-year-old-man, Recent Zhou, has been jailed for 17 years after being convicted of robbery and attempted murder. The court heard that on 3 February 2026 in Masvingo, Zhou struck his victim on the head with a knobkerrie, robbed him of valuables and then set the complainant’s hut on fire.
Two armed robbers, Watson Simango (42) and Timothy Jekero (45), were each sentenced to 12 years in prison. On 27 December 2025, the pair, armed with pistols, attacked a complainant at his workstation in Chikombedzi, Chiredzi, and made off with ZAR254 890.
In Mazowe, Clive Chaparapata (31) was convicted of stealing copper cables and sentenced to 10 years behind bars. He was caught in the act while cutting copper cables from ZETDC conductors.
A 61 year old man, Emmanuel Malawo, was jailed for nine years after being found in unlawful possession of pangolin scales in Victoria Falls.
