THE business community in Masvingo believes supporting local football teams could help them get promotion into the PSL.

And for that reason, there seems to be another renewed push to support Masvingo United to fulfil that dream.

“We understand the strong support that Masvingo United enjoy in the ancient city; hence, we have decided to chip in with a donation of home and away soccer kits for the team this year,” said businessman James Pande.

He was speaking at the official ceremony to hand over kits and training accessories ahead of the start of the 2026 season.

“Bid Deal also purchased training equipment because we want Masvingo United where they belong come 2027.”

That kiss of life has raised stakes in the ZIFA Eastern Region Division 1 League, where Yuna Yuna have set sights on powering their way back to the Premiership.

Pande pledged more support for Yuna Yuna, saying the Masvingo United franchise is too big to be in Division One.

“Of course, I am inspired by the President who through his love and support for sport in Zimbabwe has resulted in the growth and expansion of the field in the process helping to sustain livelihoods . . . ”
