SONGBIRD Cynthia Mare says she has been blown away by the outpouring of love she has received from her fans since her return home after a decade spent living in the UK.
Speaking to Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub, Cynthia says the reception has surprised her.
The gifted acoustic guitarist said:
“I didn’t know that I still had so many fans who love me and I will always do my best to make them happy.
“The feedback that I have been receiving has been overwhelming, to say the least.Fans have been encouraging me to keep pushing and doing well.”
She said she can hardly wait to celebrate Father’s Day for the first time here at home after a decade spent in the UK.
“I might appear to be biased towards mothers but, for your own information, I also have great respect for fathers and people who play the father-figure role,” said Cynthia.
“I have lined up a special show for all fathers and father figures this Saturday.
“I have a lot of respect for fathers because they are very important in our lives. Fathers play a vital role and I cherish them for what they are going through. “They are the pillars of families and we need to appreciate them for the good job they are doing.”
The songbird, who has settled well since making the bold decision to return home after 10 years abroad, said she will go out of her way to honour fathers. “I always make time to talk to fathers and father figures because they remain special to all of us. We need them.In my case, I spend time with my father and always do whatever I can to cheer him up.”
Known for popular songs such as “Zuva Rimwe”, “Ndokutenda Nei” and “Pfugama Unamate”, the diva means business every time she takes to the stage. Renowned for her soulful delivery and heartfelt storytelling, Cynthia is one of the finest female artists Zimbabwe has produced.
“I always do my best whenever I take to the stage and I am grateful for the love that I have been receiving over the years.To me, it means a lot and I will always strive to give my best. I simply love what I do and I will always perform to the best of my abilities for the fans who have made me who I am.”Cynthia says she remains committed to excellence in both her music and personal life.
“I am simply doing my best and I will continue working hard.
“I love music and everything that comes with being an artist. When it comes to live performances, I give it my all, and I promise fans the same this Father’s Day weekend,” she added.
