Moreblessing Ncube
A 27-YEAR-OLD woman thought she could hustle her way to easy cash by selling dagga — but cops shut her down fast!
Keitumetse Ncube, a vendor from Pumula East, is now staring at jail time after police caught her with a stash of illegal dagga worth over ZiG1 000.
The drama unfolded at the corner of Coventry and Grantham Road, where cops acting on a tip-off swooped in and caught Ncube red-handed.
She was busy stuffing sachets of the “devil’s lettuce” into a wooden box when officers pounced.
Prosecutor Sibusisiwe Sithole told the court that police recovered 38 sachets and loose dagga weighing a total of 110 grammes.
The stash was valued at ZiG1 140.
And guess what? She had no licence, no permit — nothing!
Ncube was dragged to court, where Bulawayo magistrate Vimbai Chirai didn’t play games.
She was slapped with a 12-month jail sentence, with six months suspended for five years.
That means she will spend six months behind bars.
Meanwhile, all the dagga, including the 38 sachets, has been forfeited to the State and will go up in smoke.
