JNR Spragga’s hit song ‘DAKA’ is leading the charts on the latest Apple Music Top 100 chart for Zimbabwe.
The artist’s other songs, “Muka Huru”, “Ndokudai NeMoyo” and “Tinodanana”, also feature among the top 10 songs.
“Muka Huru” is ranked sixth, “Ndokudai NeMoyo” sits at number seven and “Tinodanana” occupies 10th place.
At number two is Shona Prince with “Penge Penge”, followed by Learn Zimbabwe and sane.wav, whose collaboration “Zvaunoda,” occupies third place.
King98’s “Wangu”, featuring Jnr Spragga, is ranked fourth.
Bagga’s “Dai Maka Suffer”, featuring SaintFleow, completes the first five positions.
Brenda Chikore, a music fan, said:
“The chart shows that Zimbabwean music is not limited to one artist or one genre.
“There are different musicians bringing their own sound and attracting listeners.”
The remaining positions are occupied by Atenda Chinx and Jnr Spragga’s “Kuchena” at number eight, while Skido’s “Mupunduru Bundu”, featuring Bagga, sits at number nine.
“Local artists need support from their listeners,” said Blessing Dube, a local music fan.
“Streaming their music and sharing their work can help more people discover the talent we have in Zimbabwe.”
The chart features a mixture of Zimdancehall and collaborations, reflecting the different sounds currently represented in Zimbabwe’s music industry.
For Jnr Spragga, the number one position with “DAKA” adds to his growing presence on the streaming scene.
His four appearances in the top 10 also underline the reach and appeal of his music.
However, streaming rankings can change as listening patterns shift, meaning the positions represent the chart at the time of the update.
The results nevertheless provide an opportunity for the artists featured to celebrate their work and connect with audiences.
As Zimbabwean musicians continue to release new material and explore digital platforms, the latest Apple Music chart offers another glimpse into the music attracting attention among local listeners.
